ABOUT
CORE provides you with five important advantages: skilled approach, third-party objectivity, focus on financial market data, deep practical experience, and comprehensive background in law and business.
CORE's entire business centers on contract compliance review and consulting for Market Data Vendors and End Users. We are not an accounting firm attempting to apply financial auditing procedures and techniques to market data licenses. We understand market data and the firms that create it, license it, distribute it, and use it. We know the industry and the various types of business that operate within it.
CORE's Founder, CEO and Lead Auditor
As a former Associate Director of Licensing and Compliance for a major Financial Market Data Vendor, CORE's founder and principal, Keith Holden, led the development, implementation and management of that firm's Contract Compliance Program covering their full portfolio of license agreements. He led the firm's Contract Compliance Review team in performing on-site contract compliance reviews resulting in increased data protection and the realization of substantial new and under-reported revenue. Keith also expanded the firm's re-distributor reporting program opening numerous sales channels, identifying new licensees, and generating significant new revenue.
As both a licensor and reviewer, Keith has an in depth understanding of the compliance issues confronting both parties to the contract at the negotiating and drafting stage as well as the review stage. Keith's background is in the law, bringing a uniquely valuable perspective to the audit process. Mr. Holden's entire career has centered on the development and protection of intellectual property rights. After practicing law with a boutique Media and Intellectual Property firm representing clients in both commercial transactions and litigation related to copyright, trademark, trade secrets and licensing, he moved to a corporate environment serving in various executive roles for licensed commercial products and information security companies. Keith brings his extensive experience in the development and protection of intellectual property, licensing, and commercial contracts to the contract compliance arena. He has been seated on both sides of the table (licensee and licensor), as well as between (attorney and auditor), and has analyzed contracts from every angle - reviewing, revising, negotiating, drafting, litigating, and auditing.
Keith earned a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a J.D from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he was a Belkin Scholar. He is an advisor to several start-up businesses as well as a few emerging performing and fine artists. Keith enjoys photography, fine art, printing and framing, music, and classic cars.
